Match Report
Salisbury Cathedral School Boys-U13A vs  Forres Sandle Manor School
On: Wednesday, 06 Oct 2021
Venue: Away

A fantastic performance from SCS! The away side managed to press FSM from the outset-winning the ball back high- in dangerous areas. This allowed SCS to keep on the front foot and they were able to create some good early opportunities. Oli opened the scoring after a clever cross from Charlie on the right hand side. Shortly after Charlie netted a goal of his own with a smart finish across goal as he beat 2 defenders to score. SCS found themselves 4-0 up as Oli scored another two goals in quick succession both of which deflected to deceive the goalkeeper. Just before half-time George managed to bend one into the left side of the goal from the edge of the box to make it 5-0 at the break.

As SCS kick off to begin the second half they were once again able to dominate territory and kept winning the ball in high positions in order to create opportunities to attack. Eddy having moved to striker after playing left back in the first half scored a real poachers goal from close range. Bosco then added another as he scored in the bottom corner just inside the penalty area as he cut in from the right hand side. George- now playing left wing was instrumental as SCS added an 8th goal with 5 minutes to through Ethan as he tapped the ball in 6 yards out after a perfectly executed cross by George. George then rounded off the match with a stunning strike from 25 yards out bending the ball into the top left corner to beat a diving goal keeper.

A fantastic effort all round, the team really did themselves proud and represented the school superbly. Today’s man of the match is someone who doesn’t always enjoy some of the sports we focus on, so it was fantastic to see him trying so hard and making a good impact on the game- he even managed a goal too…Well done Eddy!
